The score line flattered AC Milan according to Celtic manager Neil Lennon who watched his team get beaten 2-0 at the San Siro last night.
In the groups other game Messi scored his 4th Champions league hat trick in a 4-0 win over Ajax.
The stats suggest the Lennon is wrong in his assertion given that Milan had 53 percent possession and 23 shots on target, 12 of which were on target while the Hoops could only manage 12 shots with 4 on target, that said they had a lot of possession in the final third but failed to make the final ball count.
After the game Lennon said that Scottish journalists and fans alike should not be surprised that The Bhoys had as much possession as they did. He has also taken the opportunity to talk up goalkeeper Frazer Forester who was left helpless when Emilio Izaguirre deflected a Zapata shot into his own net while his brilliant save from a Balotelli free kick was sent in on the rebound by Muntari.
Anthony Stokes also received praise from the boss while the wise men of Dunphy/Giles and Brady have suggested he should now be considered as aviable option for whoever the new Ireland manager is.
