Between 1978 and 1994 former All Ireland winning Dublin defender Kevin Moran won 71 Ireland caps in a career that saw him make 411 appearances for Manchester United, Sporting Gijon and Blackburn Rovers (when Rovers were good).

Having coming up against the likes of Lineker and Van Basten to name just two during his time in Ireland defence he knows what might be going through the mind of messers Dunne and O’Shea as they get ready to face Swedens Zlatan Ibrahimovic who's scored 44 goals in 91 appearances for his county.

Moran spoke to me at the Newstalk Euro 88 anniversary dinner and before we talked about tonight’s game he told me about the memories he has of Big Jacks squad.
