The Leinster council have handed Dublin's Jason Whelan an eight week suspension for "inflicting injury recklessly".
It follows a biting incident which took place in Dublin's Bord Na Mona O'Byrne Cup clash with DCU earlier this month.
The player and the Dublin County Board have accepted the sanction.

It comes in the wake of Director General Pauric Duffy's criticism of Dublin and Donegal following last years controversy and the lack of accountability.
