The stage is set for a passionate repeat of last season's Champions League final as Madrid rivals Real and Atletico go head-to-head in the quarter-finals.

Atletico have not lost to their more illustrious rivals in their six meetings this season, including a crushing 4-0 win by Diego Simeone's side in the last encounter.

"They seem to have worked out how to play Madrid, especially with Real Madrid having Karim Benzema, Gareth Bale and Cristiano Ronaldo up front. Atletico pack the midfield and make it hard so the three guys up front could be marooned. If Madrid can match them for intensity, aggression and break through that midfield barrage, then they'll probably win. If not, they might get kicked out of it again," said Spain-based football writer Dermot Corrigan on Off The Ball tonight.
