Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger says it is a "miracle" Jamie Vardy played in non-league football for so long.

The striker moved to Leicester from Fleetwood in 2012 and helped the Midlands club win promotion to the Premier League.

In flying form, he equalled a top-flight record set by ex-Manchester United striker Ruud van Nistelrooy by scoring in ten consecutive games.

Wenger says he is amazed Vardy was not picked up by another club higher up sooner.

"It's absolutely fantastic. It is not a miracle because that is a consequence of his quality. The miracle is that he played at Fleetwood and didn't play in the Premier League before," said the Frenchman.

Meanwhile, Aaron Ramsay is available for Arsenal's Champions League match with Dinamo Zagreb tomorrow.

The midfielder has been out with a hamstring injury over the last few weeks and is back training with the squad.

But another midfielder Francis Coquelin, crucial defensively, is out after Saturday's match at West Brom and is ruled out for two months.
