The seeding system for the Champions League will change next season.
The holders plus the title winners from the top seven European nations will go into Pot 1.
The top seeds have previously been decided via a coefficient system, based on historic performance.
This season, Arsenal who have not won the Premier League since 2004 were in Pot 1, while reigning English champions Manchester City were placed among the second seeds.
UEFA general secretary Gianni Infantino told Sky Sports News that the new regulations will greater reward the champions of each major country.
"I think it's a natural thing to give to those who have won a competition," he said.
