Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has described their pursuit of Luis Suarez as "on standby".
They have already had bids for the striker turned down, including one of £40 million and one pound.
If Arsenal want to be able to field Suarez in their crucial two-legged Champions League play-off later this month, then the squad list must be registered with UEFA by 11pm on Monday.
This morning Suarez claimed that Liverpool reneged on a promise to let him go to a club that could offer Champions League football. There is a possibility that he may take the issue to court to push through a transfer at just over £40 million.
