Two results defined this weekend's Premier League action.

One of those was the 12.45 kick off at Anfield where Arsenal were hammered by a ruthless Liverpool.

Pat Nevin was on Off The Ball tonight for his Premier League review and thinks the Gunners have no chance of winning the title even if they beat Manchester United on Wednesday.

"Arsenal have got too hard a run in February and March. They ain't going nowhere. I really can't see that they've got much of a chance. They're a good team but looking at the squad...I expected some sort of implosion and a weakness to eventually show, and I expect more of it," said Nevin.

He also noted some interesting things about the current Liverpool team. Brendan Rodgers has always emphasized a possession-first approach but the Reds have not been one-dimensional in their approach this season with the counter-attack used against Arsenal.

"There's a lot of teams doing that at the moment. Chelsea did that against Manchester City to fantastic effect. It may well be that Brendan has said that 'I know what my strengths are': Pace! What's the point of having pace when you're pressing onto teams because there's nowhere to go to behind them. Sit back a bit and allow space to break into. I don't think it's a fluke. I think it's a tactic."

While Liverpool left Arsenal bereft of confidence, that cannot be compared to the depths of deflation at Manchester United.

The major stat was the 81 crosses (watch them all here) which were fired into the Fulham box during yesterday's 2 - 2 draw.

"Man United found a way through twice which is good. It's amazing the amount of times aimless balls were thrown into the box. Not just aimless, but poor crosses. Too long, too short and not even close to being on the button," said Nevin who was also disappointed by the way that the United wingers did not run at Fulham's full-backs enough.

One winger doing that and more is Chelsea's Eden Hazard who netted a hat-trick in the 3 - 0 win over Newcastle.

Nevin thinks he is "up there with Ribery" and is happy to see him producing and not just trying to win fouls.
