Chile waited 99 years to win a Copa America but it's Argentina and Lionel Messi who are still waiting to end a major international drought of their own.

By losing on penalties in Saturday night's final in Chile, it means Argentina are still waiting for a major trophy since 1993 and as the world's best player, Lionel Messi, came close yet again, BBC South American football expert Tim Vickery told Off The Ball that his performances has led to some debate.

"Why Messi wasn't quite able to rise above it, there's a debate going on in Argentina at the moment. Is this a case of the psychologist's couch or the physiotherapist's room? Does his mind go a little bit flaky in these situations with Argentina or is it a case that he couldn't turn on the magic once more at the end of the long European season."
