Over the past decade, the French have become the new Dutch with in-fighting being the main thing they bring to the table at World Cups.

But joining the tabletop bedecked by brie, wine and baguettes is a new found sense of optimism.

France have been handed a cushy draw and also are in decent form heading into the tournament.

But can Les Bleus go deep into the World Cup with talents like Paul Pogba and Karim Benzema to call upon?

To analyse the French side, Team 33 spoke to renowned France-based broadcaster and contributor to The Blizzard Matt Spiro.

He tells us what spurred Didier Deschamps to drop Samir Nasri from the squad, how the manager has created a dangerous dark horse and whether France have the capabilities to reach the last-four?
