French newspaper L'Equipe have revealed that England's 2003 World Cup winning head coach Clive Woodward is in contention to replace Philippe Saint-Andre after this Autumn's World Cup.

The newspaper claims that Woodward is one of eight candidates under consideration for the job with Toulouse head coach Guy Noves the current favourite for the job.

Woodward's last involvement in the sport came during the ill fated 2005 Lions tour of New Zealand where the tourists lost the series 3-0.

He has worked with Southmapton FC and the British Olympic Association in recent years and was the Assistant Chef de Mission for Great Britain at the 2012 Olympics.

Saint-Andre's tenure in charge of France has disappointed and the former winger was told last month that his time in charge will end later this year.
