Anthony Davis scored a record 52 points to be named the NBA's All-Star Game MVP.

The best of the NBA converged on New Orleans as the Western Conference defeated their Eastern rivals 192-182 in the traditionally high-scoring match.

Davis was in inspired form on front of his home fans in New Orleans, breaking the points-scoring record by 10 points. He was the first player to break the 50-point barrier, breaking Wilt Chamberlain's record from 1942.

Despite the record-breaking form of Davis, two other players broke the 30-point barrier, including Russell Westbrook (41) and Giannis Antetokounmpo (30).

The 192-182 scoreline was the highest in the history of the match, but the Western Conference were five points short of breaking the 196 points the same team scored last season.

The NBA season returns to action on Friday night after its mid-season break. Currently, Cleveland Cavaliers and Boston Celtics are the top-two teams in the Eastern Conference, with Golden State Warriors and San Antonio Spurs topping the rankings in the Western Conference.
