Keith Andrews was awarded the International Player of the Year award last night, at the Three/FAI International Football Awards.
Andrews was the one player from the Irish squad who seemed to come out of Euro 2012 with his reputation intact, or better. The Bolton midfielder put in some battling displays in the face of overwhelming opposition in Poland. Clearly, his work didn’t go unnoticed.
Andrews spoke with the press after the game and started off by talking about how the award was a nice way to finish a footballing year he might sooner forget.
