2014 was quite a strong year for film, a fact that will be reflected in the many awards ceremonies that will take place over the coming weeks.

This morning, the BAFTA nominations for 2015 were released and even though occasionally they can be a little biased to British film (it's to be expected), this year it's entirely warranted that they will feature largely in the nomination lists.

Of course, Birdman is going to be one of the main films to be honoured this year but there is also the excellent Imitation Game, with an amazing lead performance from Benedict Cumberbatch and The Theory of Everything, which stars British stars Eddie Redmayne and Felicity Jones.
