American football will return to Dublin next year, with organisers saying it will be worth €56m to the Irish economy.

Boston College will play Georgia Tech at the Aviva Stadium on Saturday September 3rd next year - with an estimated 25,000 American visitors expected to attend.

The game had been due to take place at Croke Park - but the GAA pulled the plug because of the falling value of the euro against the dollar.

However, organiser Padraic O’Kane is confident it will be a success - with the benefit to be felt across the country.
