Reports in Italy are linking former AC Milan manager Massimiliano Allegri with the Tottenham job.
Current head coach Tim Sherwood is expected to be relieved of his duties at the end of the season.
The likes of Louis Van Gaal have been linked with the position but Corriere dello Sport have claimed that Spurs will appoint Allegri.
The Italian led Milan to the Serie A title in 2011 but was replaced by Clarence Seedorf in January following a poor start to the domestic season.
The paper claims that Tottenham sporting director Franco Baldini has lined up Allegri and that a verbal agreement has been reached, adding that he has taken frequent trips to London in recent months.
