Eurostar have announced that they plan to ban alcohol from certain trains during Euro 2016.

Thousands of fans from Ireland, Northern Ireland, Wales and England are expected to use the train from St Pancras Station in London. Two of Ireland's games take place in Paris and Lille. Both cities are stops on the Eurostar line.

"Throughout the tournament, there are two levels of alcohol restriction: zero alcohol, and limited alcohol," a Eurostar spokesman told Reuters.

"These are applied during specific days and time periods, and passengers on affected trains will be notified of the relevant details for their journey in pre-travel emails."

The quickest journey between London and Paris takes just over two-hours and 15 minutes.

Despite the alcohol ban on the Eurostar, Irish fans are expected to converge on France from all corners of Europe by any means possible.
