Wales boss Ryan Giggs expects to have midfielder Aaron Ramsey available for Sunday's Nations League clash with the Republic of Ireland.

The former Arsenal star will miss tomorrow's match against England at Wembley after Juventus' players were placed in “fiduciary isolation” after two members of their backroom tested positive for COVID-19.

Ramsey is one of six members of the squad, including Cristiano Ronaldo, who have been released from that bubble for international duty with their countries this weekend.

“Aaron has just followed the protocol he was told,” Giggs said this afternoon when asked about Ramsey linking up with the squad later this week.

“We’ve gone along with that and we expect him to be available for Sunday and Wednesday.

“We’ve backed that up, I don’t know about any other players’ situation or the situations of any other countries.

“We are finalising when he will come over and everything is in hand, and I’m looking forward to him meeting up.”

Wales are unbeaten in their last eight games and Giggs wants to avoid defeat at Wembley tomorrow.

“We’ve got great momentum going into the game and we want to keep that momentum up, we realise it’s a tough game and England have got some quality players.

“They could pick two or three teams and we know whatever team they put out, it’s going to be a difficult match for us. But we’re excited about the game and it will be a great occasion for our players.”
