‘Breaking Bad’ star Aaron Paul topped off a very special year by fulfilling his childhood dream to play Luke Skywalker at a live table-read of the script to ‘The Empire Strikes Back’ over the weekend.

Organised by Oscar-nominated director Jason Reitman (Juno, Up in the Air), the cast of the reading included ‘The Office’ star Rainn Wilson (Chewbacca), ‘24’ actor Dennis Haysbert (Lando Calrissian), JK Simmons played Darth Vader, while Stephen Merchant added some F-bombs to protocol droid C-3PO’s lines.

Han Solo and Princess Leia, who exchange the iconic “I love you/I know,” lines of dialogue, were played by Ellen Page and Jessica Alba.

Reitman read all the stage directions, as well as voicing the beeps of R2-D2.

The biggest surprise of the night came when Mark Hamill, the original Luke Skywalker was revealed as a surprise guest star, taking on the role of the villainous Emperor Palpatine for the performance.
