Sunderland have taken another risk by appointing another manager who lacks Premier League experience.
But according to Colin Young of the Daily Mail, new manager Gus Poyet made a good impression in his first press conference.
However, Poyet's task is very difficult as Young intimated Off The Ball last night.
Just seven games into the season, Sunderland are cut adrift at the bottom of the Premier League and have a team that still needs to gel after Di Canio's major overhaul during the summer which included 13 foreign players - some of whom only have a minimal grasp of English.
There are potential signs of hope though despite the Black Cats' predicament.
"There are aspects of the squad that actually aren't bad. Perhaps a more sane manager might be able to get the best out of them. And clearly one of Poyet's skills is that he is bilingual," said Young.
"The passing style that Poyet appears to favour might suit some of the midfielders more than the previous kick and rush that Di Canio seemed to favour. They may have just found the right man for the job."
