Villanova may be best known in Ireland for the athletic exploits of Ronnie Delany, Eamonn Coghlan and Sonia O'Sullivan, but on Monday night, the University won the NCAA Championship for only the second time in their history.

The Pennsylvania college entered the tournament as seventh seeds and defeated the second-seeds North Carolina in the final. It is Villanova's first win in the National Championships since 1985.

As part of the famed Final Four series, the final took place on front of over 74,000, in NRG Stadium, the home of the Houston Texans. Villanova won the game 77-74.
