As the battle of broadband continues to rage on, Jess sits down the Deputy Denis Naughten. As the former Minister for Communications, Naughten was heavily involved with the drawing up of the National Broadband Plan as it stands today.

He gives insight into the difficulties with the procurement process, how he found out Eir was backing out of the bidding process and the day he resigned.

Deputy Naughten explains that hostility in some circles of government towards the NBP and his relationship with An Taoiseach, Leo Varadkar.

Does he have faith in the NBP? How much of the back and forth between the Department of Public Expenditure and Reform and the Department of Communications was just playing politics?
