The National Gallery of Ireland may be temporarily closed, but in a remarkable gesture it has just made 1000 high resolution images of artworks available online under Creative Commons.

This bold gesture means that work by some of Ireland’s leading artists - out of copyright - is now available to be transformed and reimagined by the general public.
