Calls are being made for harsher punishments to be handed out to dog owners whose animals attack and kill sheep.

There has been an increase in dog attacks on sheep across the country in recent months.

It’s estimated that Irish farmers suffer between 300 and 400 dog attacks on sheep flocks each year.
