As part of Operation Tombola the Gardai anti fireworks campaign, there have been over 150 seizures of fireworks since the start of September. But where are the young people getting them from as more teenagers lose fingers and thumbs exploding in their hands. Halloween has started early this year with reports of elderly people across the capital having fireworks thrown at them by teens.
Henry McKean met the young and the elderly, Dublin City Councillor Colm O’Rourke and asks why is it in a pandemic illegal fireworks are being bought and sold freely over snapchat and the boot of cars?
