Family historians are using a newly-digitized list of ‘proclamations’ from between 1821 and 1860 to seek out namesakes who might have been involved in criminal activity. More that 3,000 obsolete laws face removal from the Irish statute books as part of SLRP. To hear about some of the strange historical laws which remain on our statute books Pat was joined on the show by Fiona Carroll Lead of the Law Reform Commission’s Statute Law Revision Programme.
