The controversial Shannon to Dublin water pipeline has received government approval and Uisce Eireann is moving forward to the next stage.
The 170 kilometre pipeline would extract water from the River Shannon to serve the Greater Dublin area. Costs and contingencies for the scheme have been developed and scheme estimates range from €3.3bn to €10.4bn with a management base cost of €4.6bn.
