Latest figures from the residential tenancies board shows the national average rent in the last quarter of 2018 was a 7% increase on one year earlier.

In reaction to this Sinn Feins Housing Spokesperson Eoin O Broin is calling for a 3 year rent freeze to be introduced across the state to combat these rises.
