A Pakistani barber is hoping to win a seat on Roscommon County Council in the local elections in May.

42 year-old Sajjad Hussain has been living and working in Ireland for the last 19 years.

If elected, he would be the first Asian person ever to sit on the local authority in Roscommon.

Newstalk reporter Aideen Finnegan has been to visit him in Ballaghderreen to find out more.
