30 young people being held at Oberstown Children Detention Campus will become certified baristas by the end of June.

12 have already been trained by Java Republic in their collaboration with the facility near Lusk in north Co. Dublin.

The aim is to equip the teenagers with skills that will help them secure employment when they leave the youth justice system.

Aideen Finnegan has been speaking to barista trainer Luis Alvarez and MD of Java Republic Grace O'Shaughnessy as well as Oberstown director Pat Bergin.
