With the number of people homeless in Ireland breaking the ten thousand mark, it’s important to remember how many of that number are young people leaving care with no further supports from the time they turn 18 years old.

The vast majority go on to lead normal lives, but a significant amount find themselves with nowhere else to go except homeless services.

To discuss the reality of living in care and Focus Ireland’s Youth Services Aftercare programme, Iwe spoke with Jasmine Mooney, Focus Ireland Customer currently staying in Chéad Chéim Aftercare services and Michael McCarthy, Chéad Chéim Team Leader.
