The National Public Health Emergency Team  have been meeting to consider new risk assessment and guidelines for tackling the Covid-19 pandemic. 

It is also considering warnings from the European Centre for Disease Control that the health system here may not be able to cope with rising numbers of patients in critical condition.

Dr Tom Ryan is an Intensive Care Consultant in St James’ Hospital and he gave Ivan his insights from the frontline.
