A woman has admitted to banning her husband from picking a film on movie night due to the disturbing ones he picked that left her distraught every time she sat down to watch TV.

It got us thinking, who should gain custody of the remote? Should it always be a 50-50 split or, if you don’t like your partner’s film of choice, is separate screens the most sensible option?
