News broke yesterday that a dispute between neighbours ended in drastic action with a tree being sliced in half. Bharat Mistry has a 25 year old 16 ft fir tree in his front garden, whose bushy foliage happened to breach the perimeter with his neighbour’s property on a quiet suburban road in Sheffield.

During lockdown over the past year the two men, Mr. Mistry and Mr. Graham Lee, have been at loggerheads over the tree as the neighbour claims that the tree is attracting noisy birds who poo all over his driveway.

It came to a head recently when Mr. Lee allegedly hired a tree surgeon to slice the tree right down the middle so that it no longer infringed on his property.
