We noticed some research this morning from the UK, which has highlighted that they are in the grip of an “epidemic of loneliness” among the young.

The report from the Onward think tank, said the proportion of people aged between 18 and 34 who say that they have one or no close friends has tripled in a decade.

Jill O’Mahony, lecturer in Sociology at Waterford Institute of Technology, Michael McLoughlin of Youth Work Ireland and Alexandra Ryan, founder and CEO of Entertainment News Site Goss.ie, joined Kieran to discus.
