Significant interest rate hike for Rebuilding Ireland home loans

The Rebuilding Ireland Home Loan has been operating since 2018, offering prospective borrowers an alternative to the traditional lenders.

It's a State scheme that also offers more money than the banks might, and the rates were always cheap in comparison to the market.

However the interest rates have increased significantly with immediate effect, leaving many applicants with reduced capacity to borrow.

Ivan was joined by Financial Planner Eoin McGee, and presenter of How to Be Good with Money on Thursdays, RTE 1 at 8.30pm to explain what this means for borrowers.
