Today is World Photography Day, an annual, worldwide celebration of the art, craft, science and history of photography.  Since the early 19th century, photography has become an ever-increasing medium of personal expression and appreciation for countless people around the world.

So, what is the lure of photography, both for professionals and amateurs, Ivan spoke to Tom Lawlor, former photographer with The Irish Times and Yvette Monahan, an Irish photographic artist from Sligo who lives and works in Dublin
