As has been widely reported, the three Super Junior Ministers at the centre of a controversy have agreed to hand back the €16k extra salary approved last week.

Instead, they'll split the two existing €16k allowances and so will still get a rise of more than €10,000.

John Downing, political columnist with the Irish Independent, explained the situation to Mark on Tuesday's edition of the Hard Shoulder.
