According to the latest figures, less than half of all Irish weddings last year were Catholic ceremonies.

There has been a decline in couples choosing traditional Catholic weddings in recent years, with Catholic ceremonies accounting for 47.6%.  This compares with 96.2% in 1980.

Father Paddy Byrne is Curate in the Portlaoise Parish, and told Ivan why he isn't that fussed about the figures, and there are positives to take.
