The CSO’s latest Labour Force Survey is out, as well as its population statistics.

We’ve a record 2.3m people in the Irish workforce, with the Irish population seemingly on course to hit the 5 million mark next year as figures reveal it stood at 4.9m earlier this year.

Director of the ESRI, Alan Barrett, told Ivan why the new figures from the CSO indicate just how much of a transformation Ireland has undertaken over the last 40 years.
