The Association of Secondary Teachers Ireland has told its members they won't be compelled to work to help prepare students for the rescheduled Leaving Cert.

On Friday, the Minister for Education Joe McHugh announced the postponement of the exam to the end of July or early August, and the cancellation of the traditional Junior Cert exams in favour of a school-based exam instead.

But will there be resistance from teachers to the new arrangements if they are expected to work during the summer months? ASTI President, Deirdre Mac Donald joined Mark to discuss her thoughts.
