Donegal Gardai don't want kids alone playing on street corners

County Donegal Gardai have warned parents they will act accordingly if they find young children alone in the street. Kids as young as 3 are being left unsupervised on housing estates. The Gardai say leaving a child unattended for even one minute may lead to an abduction or a traffic accident.
Is this child neglect, should parents be reported to Tusla the child and family agency or is this another example of the 'nanny state gone mad.'? When you were growing up could you play freely on street corners?
