It is a year to the day when 1,000 Irish Debenhams workers received an email telling them that they were losing their jobs.

And for the last 365 days some of the workers have been protesting.

The former workers never received any redundancy, despite this being agreed with the British high-street giant a few years before.

So staff, many of whom worked for the company for 20+ years were left jobless and penniless.
