It could take up to three years to clear the BreastCheck backlog. That’s according to the HSE who say the pandemic pause in screening, combined with Covid-19 restrictions, means it will take up to 36 months to complete the current round of screening. Professor Ann O’Doherty, Lead Clinical Director for BreastCheck and consultant radiologist at St Vincent’s Hospital joined us on the show to discuss this situation.
