Housing Minister Darragh O’Brien will this week bring forward plans that would prevent first-time buyers competing with large investment funds for houses, however today’s cabinet meeting will come too soon for the proposals. It comes as Sinn Fein will today bring their own private members' motion to the Dail calling on the government to restrict the activity of institutional investors in the residential property market. Eoin O’Broin Sinn Fein’s Spokesperson on Housing spoke to us this morning.
