Residents in the village of Roosky have been speaking of their relief after plans to bring a direct provision centre to the Shannon Key West Hotel were shelved.
The Department of Justice confirmed that eighty asylum seekers would not now be accomodated in the hotel because there was an issue over the lease of the property.
There had been two arson attacks on the hotel in the last three months, but the Department said this had nothing to do with the decision.
Our reporter Barry Whyte has been back to Roosky to get peoples reaction....
