There’s been an explosion in the number of people using e-scooters in Dublin City Centre during the pandemic.
And they’re also expected to be one of the best sellers this Christmas. But currently electric scooters are illegal on public roads unless you have them insured.
A law permitting their use should be passed by Christmas according to transport minister Eamon Ryan.
It’s expected they’ll be banned from footpaths, be limited to 25kph and a driving license won’t be obligatory. But how much do e-scooter users actually know about the laws?
And are they safe? Our reporter Barry Whyte has been finding out....
