Using terms like "thugs and scumbags" to describe rioters in Dublin could cause future alienation and fails to address the root causes of the problem.
That was the suggestion from Independent Senator Lynn Ruane at the Oireachtas Justice Committee yesterday and Senator Ruane spoke to Newstalk Breakfast this morning.
