New research seen by Newstalk Breakfast, says over half of 11 and 12 year old's admit to getting halfway across the road and having to run the rest of the way, due to cars. Two thirds don’t wait for traffic to stop fully before crossing the road. And a quarter have run across the road to retrieve a ball without looking. Maggie Martin, conducted new research with the School of Psychology in Trinity College Dublin, funded by the Road Safety Authority.  Henry McKean met her at the school gates in Carrickmacross and sent us this report.
