A 19-year-old Irish soccer player has claimed that he regularly faces racist abuse on the football pitch here.

Yanis Boulmelh, who plays for Firhouse Clover, says he was called a 'Paki Bastard' on a number of occasions by an opposing player.

The teenager, who was born in Ireland to Algerian parents, says he has faced this sort of racial abuse for years on the pitch.

Algerian Mokhtar Addani, who has been coaching in Ireland for over 20 years

Meanwhile, soccer coaches, Mokhtar Addani and Jeff Byrne, who both have over twenty years experience in the game, say the racial abuse is nothing new.

They both say they've both been to the FAI on several occasions with complaints, but it is always brushed under the carpet.
